About the White Family

heres us!

Figured I'd spruce up this section a little, here goes...

How it all Started, hmm... Back in 1995, at the 104 Main in Stephenville Newfoundland I remember the night when Viki and myself first crossed paths. She thought I was some kind of stalker (I remembered seeing Viki in a newspaper article and had to get introduced), Just kidding. I think she was after me :). A Mutual friend actually introduced us.

After a couple of dates we decided to get serious and take it to the next level... Go to a party at Cory Delaneys' cabin, have fun and try to prove my manly status by dancing on skids which were on a bonfire at the time. Not too smart but hey she stuck around, guess I didn't do to bad. We got engaged after a fiery romance on a very wet and rainy day in a leaky tent at Barachois park in August 1997.

After a long distant relationship that was struggling because of the miles I decided to go for it and move to Corner Brook, to Viks' home town. Thanks go out to Pam and Duncan for giving us the chance to make a start in the big city. We were both working at the time, I wanted to go back to school and take some more tech courses so I enrolled at the local community college, started the following fall (darn waiting lists). We got our first place together (Easter '98) which was short lived, then we moved in under a nice lady named Marina immediately after and had quite an enjoyable stay up on the hill in the big yellow house.

Well the big day was here, July 22, 2000. Viki and I exchanged vows at the Anglican Cathedral in Corner Brook. I believe it rained just a little but it was a great day to get hitched and shes one hell of a woman to be hitched to. Had an old mustang instead of a limo which was a pretty cool alternative and it was great to have everyone home for the event. I remember the last song I heard as a single man was "Three Pistols" by the Tragically Hip, the strangest things are remembered sometimes.

Shortly after the wedding we found out that two of our friends were heading up to Ontario and seeing there was no (or not much) work in this one horse town I asked if I could go too? It was tough being away from my new bride but I figured that was my only chance to avoid pushing shopping carts, get ahead in life and make things happen. I was pretty determined not to go to college the second time and not get a job related to my training, Kitchener here I come...

Well, it's been over 6 years now, and coming up was a pretty good decision. It was a little un-nerving starting out here, having people speaking different languages, never mind the hustle and bustle of living in a bigger place, road rage and all. I've been blessed with a wonderful wife, two great boys, a car that starts every morning, a JOB and friends which my family and I can spend time with.

--peas out ;) (I know, I know... it should be peace out).
